I may not be the best to ask this question- to be honest you should ask a model or photog. This is what I would reccomend, though.
Start by following your favorite modern pinups on facebook. They would have better tips for you than I would. Cherry Dollface has a YouTube channel where she gives hair and makeup tutorials. Start practicing poses have your boyfriend or a friend do some practice shots with a digital camera in your house and see what poses are most flattering for your body. The most important thing is that you have fun. Being a retro pinup model should never feel like work.
I also suggest you find out YOUR style. There are tons of girls trying to emulate other successful models. Try doing something different that makes YOU stand out.
You can get in touch with a lot of different photographers if you want to jump into more professional shots. We like Mitziandco.com because she has a nice studio and has a hair and makeup artist at her shoots along with a big wardrobe and tons of props. However, I don’t know where you’re located- so you may want to look into photographers in your area. I don’ t know much about modeling agencies because all of our models are volunteered or seek us out.
Hope this helps!
